Critical Security Vulnerability Hotfixes

Hello, all!

The Unity team reported that games built with certain versions of Unity, including Distant Melody, have a security vulnerability that may pose a risk to players: https://discussions.unity.com/t/unity-platform-protection-take-immediate-action-to-protect-your-games-and-apps/1688031

In response, we've replaced the Android, Mac, and PC versions of Distant Melody on our itch page with hotfix versions that address this vulnerability in the short-term. (The browser version of the game is not affected by the vulnerability.) These will remain live until we finish working on more permanent fixes to all three versions.

TAKE ACTION:

If you have a copy of Distant Melody on your Android, Mac, or PC device, please delete it and download one of the hotfix versions instead. We'll post another announcement once the longer-term updates are live.

Unity has also advised us to share the following information:

• There is no evidence of any exploitation of the vulnerability, nor has there been any impact on users or customers.
• As best practices, we recommend maintaining current antivirus software, avoiding suspicious downloads, and routinely updating all software.
